Workshop – How to Teach Piano or Trumpet
This lot is ideal for music students looking to extend their musical skills or supplement their income. For pianists and trumpeters at Grade 7 level or above, former Westminster Parent and professional concert pianist Antoinette Cann is offering a workshop that will cover how to find your first students, giving a student their first few lessons, ways to inspire students and suitable teaching books.
Antoinette Cann is one half of the successful piano duo The Cann Twins and studied piano at the Royal College of Music with the legendary duo-pianist Phyllis Sellick and trumpet with Richard Walton before winning a scholarship to the Banff School of Fine Arts, Canada to study with Gilbert Kalish, Jean-Paul Sevilla and Anton Kuerti. As a postgraduate Antoinette was awarded the RCM President's Rosebowl, and by invitation of the Queen Mother performed at the Royal Lodge, Windsor for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and guests.
The Cann Twins frequently give masterclasses in America and have taught at the Royal College of Music, London, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and also Loyola University, New Orleans and Stetson University, Florida, U.S.A. as Visiting Professors. Their recordings have won “Gramophone Critic’s Choice” and “Classic FM Critic’s Choice”.

The workshop is for up to five people and can take place at Antoinette’s studio near Cambridge or at the bidder’s home in London. The workshop must be taken between May 2013 and July 2014.
